1. Turn Off Power to Heating/Cooling Organisation
   
2. Remove One-time Thermostat
   Remove one-time thermostat but leave wallplate with wires fastened.
   If you lot have an older thermostat with a sealed mercury tube, turn to page 2 for proper disposal instructions.
   
3. Label Wires with Tags
   Label the wires using the supplied wire labels as yous disconnect them.
   
4. Carve up Wallplate from New Thermostat
   Remove wallplate from the new thermostat and mount onto wall.
   
5. Mountain Wallplate
   Mount the new wallplate using the included screws and anchors.
   Drill three/xvi-in. holes for drywall
   Drill 3/32-in. holes for plaster
6. Connect Wires
   Simply match wire labels.
   If labels practice non match letters on the thermostat, check "Alternate Wiring (Conventional Systems)" on folio 6 and connect to terminal as shown here (see notes, below).

   Alternate Wiring (Conventional Systems)
   If labels do not lucifer terminals, connect wires equally shown here (see notes, below).
   ane. Remove metal jumper connecting R and Rc just if you must connect both R and Rc wires.
   2. If your old thermostat had both R and RH wires, remove metallic jumper. Connect the R wire to the Rc terminal, and the RH wire to the R terminal.
   three. If your old thermostat had only 1 C or C1 wire, connect information technology to the C final. If your old thermostat had 2 C or C1 wires, wrap each separately with electric record and practice non connect them.
   Alternating Wiring (Estrus Pump)
   If labels do not friction match letters on thermostat, encounter folio 7.
   NOTE: If East and Aux exercise not each have a wire connected, employ a modest slice of wire to connect them to each other.
   Alternating Wiring (For Heat Pumps Only)
   1. Exit metallic jumper in place, connecting R & Rc terminals.
   2. If your old thermostat had both V and VR wires, stop now and contact a qualified contractor for assistance.
   3. If your quondam thermostat had carve up O and B wires, attach the B wire to the C terminal.
   4. If another wire is fastened to the C final, cease now and contact a qualified contractor for assistance.
   5. If your erstwhile thermostat had Y1, W1 and W2 wires, terminate now and contact a qualified contractor for help.

7. Install Batteries

   Turn the power back on to the heating/cooling arrangement.

1. Press and release the left push.
2. Press and hold the center button until the screen changes (approximately five seconds).

Clock setting

1. To set the electric current time display, press CLOCK & More than, then press or to conform the time. Press and agree or to advance the time more quickly.
2. Printing DONE to salve & leave (or press Go BACK to go out without irresolute the time).
   NOTE: The existent-time clock should never require aligning since it automatically updates for daylight savings time, and stores all date/time information.

Program Schedule

You can program four time periods each solar day, with unlike settings for weekdays and weekends. Nosotros recommend the pre-set up settings (shown in the tabular array below), since they can reduce your heating/cooling expenses.

Wake – Set to the time you awaken and the temperature you want during the morning, until you get out for the day.

6. Repeat steps three-5 to plan other time periods (LEAVE, Return, SLEEP), then press Washed.
7. Repeat steps one-6 to program Sabbatum/ Sunday. (Press until the desired day is flashing, and then press SELECT DAY.)
8. Printing DONE to save & leave.
   

To adapt program schedules (RTH7500/RET97D only)

1. Press SCHEDULE, then EDIT to encounter weekdays.
2. Press SELECT DAY. You can select multiple days to program with the same settings.
3. Press NEXT STEP twice, then printing to set Wake time for selected day(s).
4. Press NEXT Footstep, then  to set Heat temperature for this time period.
5. Printing Adjacent Pace, then to gear up Cool temperature for this time period.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 to plan other time periods (Go out, RETURN, Slumber), and then press Done.
7. Echo steps one-half-dozen to programme any remaining days. (Press until the desired twenty-four hour period is flashing, and then printing SELECT DAY.)
8. Press Washed to relieve & exit.
   

Program schedule override (temporary)

Press to immediately adjust the temperature. This will temporarily override the temperature setting for the current time menses. The new temperature will be maintained until the next fourth dimension period. When the timer expires, the program schedule volition resume and set the temperature to the level y'all've programmed for the electric current time period. To cancel the temporary setting at any time, press USE SCHEDULE.

Plan schedule override (permanent)

While in the Motorcar mode, if a schedule override takes place (temporarily or permanently) the thermostat will automatically accommodate the cooling and heating settings to maintain a 3-degree separation between the cool and oestrus settings.

Special features

Smart Response® Engineering science: This feature allows the thermostat to "larn" how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For instance: Gear up the Wake fourth dimension to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The oestrus volition come up on before half-dozen am, so the temperature is 70° by the fourth dimension you wake at 6. The message "Recovery" is displayed when the system is activated before a scheduled time period.

Battery replacement

Batteries are optional (to provide backup power) if your thermostat was wired to run on AC power when installed. Install fresh batteries immediately when the LO BATT warning begins flashing. Troubleshooting

Heating system is running in cool mode	• Check Role 0170: System Blazon to make sure it is gear up to friction match your heating and cooling equipment.
Scarlet light is on	• If thermostat is in Emergency Estrus mode the red light is normal. It shows that the thermostat is in emergency heat manner. • If thermostat is not in Emergency Estrus manner, contact a qualified service contractor for repair.
"Wait" appears on the screen	• Compressor protection feature is engaged. Expect 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, without damage to the compressor.
Estrus pump issues cool air in rut mode, or warm air in absurd mode	• Check Part 0190: Oestrus Pump Changeover Valve to make sure it is properly configured for your system.
